A winter to spend outside...
Above & Beyond has been leading young people into the Sierras on snowshoes since 2000. Snowshoeing is one the fastest growing outdoor sports because of its simplicity, easy learning curve and the limitless possibilities of places and terrain to explore. Whether you're looking for a heart pumping adventure or a casual hike on the snow with a full moon overhead, snowshoeing promises to meet your expectations.
Most groups we lead out "shoe" on traditional snowshoes the participants have made in one of our snowshoe building workshops. Over the course of eight weekly sessions, our instructors get to know the participants, building relationships with them and sharing life lessons that we have come to refer to as "lessons of the snowshoe." If you have a group of young people (high school age and up) who are interested in building their own snowshoes, drop us an email with your group info and your contact information.
